The Ruskin Art Club, founded in 1888, is Los Angeles' oldest cultural association. Its 1922 clubhouse was declared a Los Angeles Historical Monument in 1997.
JUDY GRAHN is the author of 16 books of poetry, fiction, and nonfiction, including The Work of a Common Woman and Blood, Bread, and Roses, as well as numerous essays, short stories, and poem-works for the stage. Widely anthologized and the recipient of many prizes, her work has won the Before Columbus Foundation American Book Award and was specially honored with the 1996 establishment by Publisher's Triangle of the Judy Grahn nonfiction award.
SUSAN McCABE is an associate professor of modern and contemporary poetics at University of Southern California. Her poetry is published in numerous journals, including Denver Quarterly, Colorado Review, Barrow Street, Fence, Volt and Sonora Review. Her first critical book, Elizabeth Bishop: Her Poetics of Loss, was published by Penn State Press in 1994. Her latest book is entitled Cinematic Modernism: The Embodied Poetry of Stein, W.C. Williams, H.D. and Marianne Moore.
