In particular, I wanted to mention that a key part of my book DaDaDa was an effort to create a “usable past” or pantheon of female writers (the second section is poetry written from the writings of female love mystics (both “saints” and heretics); the third section, from which “The Burlesques” is taken, is female aestheticians, artists, interior decorators, etc.) and that I the other poems to emphasize the ways I treat “female” craft practices in poetry (“Sampler”) and issues of mathematics and freedom (modern algebra).
