new house (not closed yet) is leaking with the rains -- 3-4 distinct leaks -- 3 found on our final walk thru, so we didn't close

we are lucky

spent all the time not at the fabulous, magical, etc. etc. wedding sick in bed -- I hope to return to have fun soon; we are better but now Ron has something else serious going on w/ his back.

We haven't closed on the house yet -- maybe the 11th, but it is leaking like the proverbial sieve -- we are very very lucky, found 3 serious leaks on our final walk thru and one more when we were just back from NY (yesterday).

I'm thinking of having a large "estate sale" MLK weekend

more LA poems by me at http://www.notellmotel.org!
well, I suppose because people like me who are on list completely forget to read her

so this afternoon I was wondering at

But even comparing these two poems to each other is like comparing two people speaking in tongues: who sounds better?

Consider the riddle another way: how do you determine the better, if not best, passage of Greek or Latin when you don't understand the language?

Because it is a peculiar "'church' of poetry" indeed that Ms. Hula-Hoop's positing.

does ms. houlihan ever say anything different when she pretends to review contemporary poetry? why circulate this to this list when it won't tell us anything we already don't know. the thoughts of a small person are usually small.

personally, i recognize Bruce Andrews after the third word. she should be like a critic who didn't minimalism and color field painting. you just haven't earned yet, baby!

My first book THIS POEM MEANS will be published by Lotus Press some time this year. It won the Naomi Long Madgett award and will come out under that rubric. Hardly true. Also, no poetry publishers help much.

wompo (women’s poetry list) recently had a discussion about that – you might check their archive – I occasionally blog about it too

getting a book reviewed, etc.; I send out hundreds of e-mails, line up readings….
